Annual Meeting Surveys Mailed to Attending Members
Boone Electric Cooperative sent a survey to each cooperative member who attended the 2009 Annual Meeting. Survey results will be used to help plan future meetings. Members who return their completed survey prior to September 16 will be eligible to win one of five $50 credits to their account.
Our Energy, Our Future Campaign Continues
Last year Boone Electric and other electric cooperatives nationwide asked members to take part in the Our Energy, Our Future campaign. The venture is a conversation with elected officials through letters and e-mail messages, asking officials to make wise decisions regarding energy policy.
The campaign, Spearheaded by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Assn., has continued in 2009. Boone Electric members attending Annual Meeting in July were given the opportunity to sign on to the program. In addition, with their July billing statement, each BEC member received an Our Energy, Our Future card to complete and return to our office.
If you have not yet joined the conversation, please log onto www.ourenergy.coop to send e-mail messages to your elected officials in Washington D.C.
Make the Switch to Compact Fluorescent Bulbs
Boone Electric members can trade six incandescent light bulbs for six compact fluorescent bulbs free of charge each time they visit our office. The CFL bulbs we have are soft white 75-Watt bulbs.
Switching to compact fluorescent bulbs is one of the quickest ways to help lower energy bills inside the home. CFL bulbs use one-third the energy of traditional incandescent bulbs and last up to 10 times longer.
