Requests for new service need to be made at least one business day prior to the date you want your service connected. You will need to call Boone Electric Cooperative or stop by the office to apply for new service. Same-day service requests made before 5 p.m. will have a charge of $25; requests made after 5 p.m. will have a charge of $50.

A soft credit check is required for all new applicants and for current members who have not maintained a good payment record with Boone Electric. This will help determine the amount of the security deposit, which is based on the Potential Delinquency Risk of the applicant(s) or member(s). Additional meters will also require a security deposit. In addition, there will be a non-refundable $10 service connection charge added to your first bill.

Requests for new service requiring the construction of new electrical lines should be directed to our Engineering Department. Please provide as much advance notice as possible. See the New Service page to view the steps necessary to set up electric service for a new structure in Boone County.

Requests for transfer of service are similar to those for new service. You will need to call Boone Electric Cooperative at 573-449-4181, or stop by the office, to transfer electric service.

A final meter reading, taken by Boone Electric, is required on the date disconnection is specified. Any deposits made will be applied to your account to determine your final amount due or refund. Disconnect orders must be made at least one business day prior to the date for service to be discontinued. You will need to call Boone Electric Cooperative at 573-449-4181 or stop by the office to disconnect electric service.
