Boone Electric also expects to be informed about the electrician, the system that will be put in place and the inspections performed and approved. We have a checklist and a 10-page contract that will need to be followed to ensure approval before you can connect your renewable energy source to the grid. We need to ensure safety precautions like inverters and disconnects are in place before your PV system can go live. These safety measures keep linemen and other power operators safe from being electrocuted. This also explains the level of professionals you will need to hire to pass inspections. The city or county will need to do multiple inspections during this process before BEC can move forward.
The person whose name is listed as the member at this address will need to sign the contract. If you are not sure whose name the membership is under, we can help you.
Once BEC receives the contract, completed in full, it will be sent to Associated Electric Cooperative, Inc. in Springfield, Missouri.
AECI is our wholesale generator and will be the entity giving final approval. While it typically does not require the full 30 days, the contract states AECI can utilize this amount of time for approval. Please note this time frame when planning your final date for your renewable energy source to be operational. Once we receive final approval, we will return to set meters and test disconnects. Then the account will go to billing for setup.
